Which Blonde Composite Decking is Best for You?

Perhaps the most fun part of any new project around your home is deciding what color best expresses your style and design. It can also be one of the most challenging parts of any new project as well, and it’s no different for decking.

Once you know the general color family you like, the next decision is whether you want something that incorporates multiple shades, a single solid color, or somewhere in between.

We separate our composite decking colors into four families – Brown, Blonde, Red, and Grey. This post will explore the blonde family of colors.

Blonde Composite Decking options

A lighter shade will showcase your design style best, but which shade and color blend will be perfect?

From modern to tuscan, you can see examples of our decking in these design settings in our Style & Elements Guide.

Take a look at all of our blonde composite decking options.

Distinction Spiced Teak

The Distinction Collection features the widest range of colors and highlights within each board. It’s even been described by some as having a ‘dramatic’ color mix. If you’re looking for a color mix resembling the patterns found in exotic woods, then Distinction is for you.

Spiced Teak certainly lives up to the dramatic description – featuring multiple shades and highlights within the blonde spectrum, from dark brown to light blonde. This makes Spiced Teak very diverse across many design styles and offers a high-end look.

Ridge Premium Vintage Oak & Sandstone

Ridge Premium is our budget friendly composite decking collection. The fluted profile bottom is a way for us to reduce manufacturing costs while still maintaining the strength and durability our customers expect. Featuring softly blended colors, Ridge Premium is a great alternative to pressure treated lumber as the lifetime cost is less when considering time and materials for the necessary ongoing maintenance of lumber.

Vintage Oak falls in the darker end of the blond family, featuring a soft blend of light and dark browns. It’s color blend is versatile and will work well with a range of design styles, offering a palette that can accent light, airy colors or bright, bold colors.

Sandstone falls on the opposite end of Vintage Oak and is one of the lightest blonde color options. A blend of both light browns creates a beautiful variegated board that is subtle and dramatic simultaneously while providing versatility for any design direction desired.

EverGrain Weathered Wood

EverGrain is our classic, uncapped decking – meaning it doesn’t have a hard shell on it – and has been a staple for more than 20 years. That’s why all our capped composite decking collections are built on it – it’s performance is unmatched.

Weathered Wood is a light brown board that captures the essence of natural wood. Since it’s uncapped, EverGrain boards typically weather to a lighter shade within the first several months of exposure to the environment, so you can expect Weathered Wood to become a slightly lighter brown after it’s been installed.

Blonde composite decking is an ideal choice if you want a space that works with a range of colors and design styles – from modern to Tuscan, or traditional to Asian zen.
